About

Hey there, my name is Philip Darden. This site is dedicated to my work, my travels, and my life. I am a photographer and graphic designer currently living in Auburn Alabama. I work for a photography studio in the area called Flip Flop Foto as well as some freelance design work from time to time.

A little information about me. I attended Auburn University where I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Part of my design course load included a photography class, which helped re kindle my love for photography when I was younger.

Post graduation I worked a couple of jobs before landing my first big person job at a web design agency called IQ Interactive in Atlanta GA. There I learned the ins and outs of Flash web design as well as some html, css, and WordPress. I worked at IQ for a year and a half when I made the decision to move back to Auburn with my girlfriend who is attending graduate school.

Moving to Auburn, initially, was a decision we made to help her move forward in her school and career. Little did we know that it would have a huge impact on my life as well. I managed to get a job at Flip Flop Foto on a whim and ever since then my photography opportunities have taken off, moving me more towards being a full time photographer. While I still have a lot to learn, I have grown exponentially since I started with Flip Flop and plan on continuing my growth.

Besides photography, my passion is personal health and wellness. I am an avid cyclist and runner, as well as an occasional triathlete. I am very interested in learning about nutrition and exercise to help improve my athletic ability. It also helps that my girlfriend is getting her masters degree in biomechanics.

I am always up for a new challenge and love spending my days outside in the sunshine. The best days are when I can combine my two passions, running/cycling/triathlons with photography. I am available for wedding or portrait photography through Flip Flop Foto and all other types of photography on a freelance basis.
